MANTYKE

458 / MANTYKE - Pokémon Papercraft
Name:
Mantyke
Type: Water/Flying
Species: Kite Pokémon
Height: 0.9 m (3'03")
Weight: 65.0 kg (143.3 lbs.)
Interesting Facts: Like its evolved form, Mantyke looks like a manta ray. On its back is a pattern with two red spots with white outlines and a white curve underneath, which resembles a happy face. Mantyke appears to be quite friendly. It is the only Pokémon so far that needs another Pokémon to be in the party in order for it to evolve. Mantyke's catch rate of 25 means it is actually harder to capture than Dialga and Palkia (30). It evolves into Mantine by level-up and with a Remoraid in the party.

HARDER to cath than Dialga and Palkia?! :O wow.......... XP awesome job, love how it stands on its own, but let me guess.... does it stand because of 'micro-filament'? I ask this as i have made my own models with the trick of it :P AWESOME job! *thumbs up*

Yes, you guessed right, I did use micro-filament to make it stand up, but this was so that you could see its faces properly :)

Can you use something as a paperweight in the bottom of the model to make it stand? Or does this model not work like that?

I suppose you could try to weight it down in the right spot, if you wanted, I never tried it myself.

However, keep in mind that the surface/face that you would use for Mantyke to stand in that up-right position is not especially wide(~1cm), so your weight would also need to be quite thin.

Ok, thanks, Skelekitty! I suppose weighing it down with (American) pennies or dimes might work--those are pretty small. Or maybe some putty that could be shaped into a tiny ball.

I found it easier to catch mantyke than dialga or palkia.
