RIOLU

447 / RIOLU - Pokémon Papercraft
Name:
Riolu
Type: Fighting
Species: Emanation Pokémon
Height: 0.7 m (2′04″)
Weight: 20.2 kg (44.5 lbs.)
Interesting Facts: Riolu are sensitive to a special type of energy called Aura. Riolu's evolved form, Lucario, can use these waves to attack, or study these waves to predict the movements of their opponents, and use them to track anyone. However, Riolu does not have the ability to fully use these powers, although it can still emanate these waves to communicate and sense them - albeit only in "ripples" as opposed to the "waves" of energy its evolution can sense and guide. Most notably, it cannot learn Aura Sphere or Detect naturally, two moves that Lucario learns that are often attributed to its aura powers. Like almost all Fighting-type Pokémon, Riolu naturally has superhuman strength, stamina, and endurance and is capable of making long journeys on foot in a short amount of time.

THE PAPER MODEL
Height: 19,9 cm/7.8 in
Width: 11,9 cm/ 4.7 in
Depth: 14,3 cm/5.6 in
No. of Pages: 4
No. of Pieces: 49
Level: Medium
Designer: Brandon
Photo: Lyrin
NOTES: This model is pretty straightforward, just follow the numbers on the template while building it. Using the pdo as reference will help a lot. It doesn't stand without a weight inside: I rolled a small scrap piece of paper and glued it inside Riolu's chest (front) in order to make it stand.

I like the Pokemon that look like dogs or cats on two legs but now I see it in papercraft, the two teardrops hanging from his head look really weird lol... I know it probably was like that but maybe you could have changed it to be more smoothly attached to the head? Sometimes you don't have to be afraid to make it different from the exact game copy if it is an improvement. But keep it up! Only thing I have to say is to try and keep the style of all the team members the same, because sometimes a round part of one Pokemon papercraft is divided into 8 parts and sometimes only 4 so it isn't as smooth or is that because they're from different games like Gamecube or Nintendo64?

Partly the game the come from, partly style. It's pretty much impossible for several people to do the same thing every time, so that's very unlikely that it'll be consistent from person to person.

He's so cute ^^ I'm almost done making him! His toes weren't as bad as making Charmander's fingers ;D

I have a little question: You say that a rolled small scrap piece of paper must be glued inside Riolu's chest in order to make it stand. How do I know the perfect size for that piece of paper?

I love this Pokemon.
This model has white lines, look closely at the part 22. Is that normal?. I noticed when I printed them.

Regards!
