OSHAWOTT (MIJUMARU)

501 / OSHAWOTT - Pokémon Papercraft
Name: Oshawott (Mijumaru)
Type: Water
Species: Sea Otter Pokémon
Height: 0.5 m (1′07″)
Weight: 5.9 kg (13.3. lbs.)
Interesting Facts: Ken Sugimori said that Oshawott and its evolutions were the hardest for the team to design during production, as conceptualizing its evolutions were difficult. They eventually settled on a samurai theme and making its final form a sea lion after a trip to an aquarium. It evolves into Futachimaru starting at level 17, which evolves into Daikenki starting at level 36.

THE PAPER MODEL
Height: 16.5 cm/ 6.5 in
Width: 12.1 cm/ 4.7 in
Depth: 13.4 cm/ 5.3 in
Pages: 5
Pieces: 35
Level: Medium
Designer: PMF
Photo: PMF

NOTES: Oshawott is not too hard. Start by building the head, adding the nose and ears as you go. Then build the body, adding the arms and the tail as you build it from the head to the feet. The feet are separated from the body and should be glued at a slight angle (not straight forward). It should balance with the tail.

The collar is made of 8 balls that you glue all around the neck. Keep note of the letters on the template and the small illustration showing where each goes.

I love it that you actually put the Japanese name, Mijumaru.
I like that mijumaru better than oshawott, it sounds cuter that way.:D

Why does Oshawott have balls around it's neck? I studied my Oshawott, and it didn't have balls, just what appeared to be blue lumps. Anyways, I still think it looks pretty nice, so keep up the good work! :)

are the balls around the neck the same as the balls for Skitty's tail?

Balls seemed the best way to give it that shape. Lumps would probably fit better, but the difficulty of building them in comparison didn't really seem worth it.
They're probably similar to Skitty's tail, but not exactly the same.
