SKIPLOOM (Happy St. Patrick's Day!)

188 / SKIPLOOM - Pokémon Papercraft
Name:
Skiploom
Type: Grass / Flying
Species: Cottonweed Pokémon
Height: 0.6 m (2'00")
Weight: 1.0 kg (2.2 lbs.)
Interesting Facts: Much like Hoppip, Skiploom needs a gust of wind to get itself airborne. It flies using its flower as a propeller. The bloom on top of its head open and closes as the temperature fluctuates up and down and its flower blossoms when the temperature rises above 64°F (18°C). Because of this it is sometimes used as a thermometer. Skiploom spreads its petals to absorb as much sunlight as possible. It also floats in the air to try to get closer to the sun. When it rains, this Pokémon closes its flower and immediately hides under the shade of a tree to avoid getting wet. It evolves from Hoppip starting at level 18, and evolves into Jumpluff starting at level 27.

THE PAPER MODEL

Depth: 17.7 cm/7.0 in
No. of Pages: 8
No. of Pieces: 28

NOTES: Join each of the body pieces together from the top of the head downward, inserting in ears, arms and tail as you go. Close body at the bottom and then glue body onto feet. Use stick glue to attach top-side and bottom-side of each petal - this ensures that there is no bubbling/wrinkling of the paper. Then gently curl the double-sided petals around the edge of a table, before attaching it to the center part of the flower - bending the petal upwards at that center tab-join.
